Arabica Coffee loses habitats -

Heat and dryness are a risk for the wild Arabica Coffee. In 70 years this type of coffee might have disappeared.

Arabica Coffee comes from the southwest of Ethiopia.

The habitats decreases very fast. The reason for it seems to be the climate change.

The loss of this type of Coffee bean, would have an impact on the total Coffee production- wrote scientists from the team of Aaron Davis in the magazine “PLoS One”. The commercial types of Coffee would have poor genes. To make them resistant against climate change, new diseases and pest, wild strains would be needed as genetic reservoir.

Let’s hope we can avoid this horror-scenario.
